Ongoing Lane Closures and Restrictions
Westbound Veterans Memorial Parkway between Cave Springs Boulevard and Mexico Road is
temporarily restricted to one-way traffic. This temporary configuration is expected to
last for the majority of 2023. During construction, Veterans Memorial Parkway traffic
can only go in the eastbound direction (no westbound traffic) between Cave Springs
Boulevard and Mexico Road. Once construction is completed, this section of Veterans
Memorial Parkway will be returned back to the normal two-way traffic configuration.
Both directions of Interstate 70 at the Cave Springs and Zumbehl interchanges are
narrowed and shifted through December 2023.
Lanes on northbound and southbound Cave Springs are narrowed and shifted to the east and
a barrier wall will separate traffic from the active work zone. One of the two left turn
lanes from eastbound I-70 to northbound Cave Springs will be closed. Motorists will
still be able to make a left turn from the remaining open turn lane. Both the lane shift
and the exit lane closure will remain in place until traffic is switched onto the new
structures for Stage 2 construction of the new interchanges.
